MLC involvement with the reinstatement of Bridge City Shopping Centre, KZN

MLC is proud to have been associated with the successful reinstatement of the 56,000m² GBA Bridge City Shopping Centre in KwaMashu, KwaZulu Natal following the July 2021 riots which severely damaged the property.

The scale of this single property insurance reinstatement project was possibly a South African first, including stripping out and demolition works, cleaning and washing down the remaining structure, structural repairs to affected areas of the reinforced concrete structure, fit-out of all mall areas and public ablutions, reinstatement of MEPDF engineering services, tenant fit-outs and reinstatements, reinstatement of offices and plant rooms, external works and services.

MLC provided a wide range of professional services, including cost management, quantity surveying, value engineering services, insurance reinstatement valuations and management of the SASRIA property damage insurance claim – complete cost control.
