The next phase in the Mercedes Benz C-Class evolution. Mercedes Benz commissioned the construction of a new body shop facility at their East London plant to assemble the new generation of their C-Class vehicles due for release in 2022. The Mercedes-Benz plant in East London is part of the global production network for the C-Class saloon vehicle for export to left and right-hand drive markets. The 2-storey facility comprising 44,000m2 gross building area designed and built to comply with stringent Mercedes-Benz European factory standards including a design objective to achieve zero deflection in the concrete slabs due to the precision required by the assembly plant robots when assembling the vehicles.
