V&A Waterfront
With 25 million visitors a year, the V&A Waterfront remains South Africa’s favourite attraction for international and local visitors. Since 2011, the Waterfront has developed and grown tremendously.This includes the Queen Victoria Hotel, the Clock Tower shopping centre refurbishment, the redevelopment of the Victoria Wharf shopping centre, the No. 1 Silo commercial and the No. 2 Silo residential developments, the extension of the Two Oceans Aquarium and the refurbishment of the Watershed. Old office space was converted into residential apartments called Ports Edge, the historical Grain Silo was converted into the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa and the residential units, Breakwater, was launched. The development of the Canal District followed with an Urban Park, No. 4 Silo and No.5 Silo with commercial tenants. The No. 6 Silo offers the Radisson Red Hotel, the No.3 Silo residential units and the Silo Hotel was developed.
MLC has been involved with the development of the V&A Waterfront over many years on various sectors and with the Waterfront’s dynamic reuse of buildings past their usual life.
